Korean typing is satisfying. You press individual Hangul letters, and they automatically combine into syllable blocks. No conversion step like Japanese or Chinese - what you type is what you get.
The standard layout is logical: consonants on the left, vowels on the right.
The Dubeolsik Layout
Dubeolsik (두벌식, "two-set") is the standard Korean keyboard layout. It puts:
Consonants on the left side
Vowels on the right side
Shift for double consonants
Why This Layout Works
Your left hand handles consonants (ㄱ, ㄴ, ㄷ...), right hand handles vowels (ㅏ, ㅓ, ㅗ...). Since Korean syllables alternate consonant-vowel-consonant, your hands naturally alternate.

How Syllable Blocks Form
This is the magic part. As you type, characters automatically combine:
Type ㅎ (h key): ㅎ
Type ㅏ (k key): 하 (ha)
Type ㄴ (s key): 한 (han)
Type ㄱ (r key): 한ㄱ → starts new syllable
Type ㅜ (n key): 한구 (han-gu)
Type ㄱ (r key): 한국 (han-guk)
The computer knows Korean syllable structure and groups characters automatically.

Common Typing Mistakes
1. Wrong Hand Position
Keep hands centered:

Right index on ㅓ (j key)
